Client need:

Fully manage all efforts for the non-profit Rise Across Texas Foundation (RATF) by overseeing specific efforts of raising funds and awareness for a capital campaign for the Rise School of Austin.  Over the past two years, JHL Company has established a strategic plan by overseeing fundraising, stakeholder and target audience identification, communications, event planning and management, and coordination of efforts with the Rise School of Austin.

JHL execution:

Creating vision through a strategic development and public relations plan and working with the RATF Chairman, JHL Company helped establish what started with a single fundraising event plan into a multi-million dollar foundation. By creating state-wide awareness and a broad base of support, RATF is close to reaching its capital campaign goal after less than three years. Operations are managed entirely by JHL staff.

Accomplishments:

  • Managed an  850-mile bike ride across Texas which included the Governor’s participation and other key corporate, community and government leaders’ participation. JHL built events and media opportunities around the event across the state.
  • Turned the initial concept of RATF into a multi-faceted fundraising and awareness organization for the school. JHL utilized relationships to launch a grassroots campaign around The University of Texas and Coach Mack Brown by creating a “Friends of Mack” campaign with a press event on his birthday followed by the release of “Friends of Mack” bracelets distributed in all University Co-op stores.
  • Fundraising is on-going, but to date, JHL Company has raised more than $3 million in two years.
