We do the product searching and comparing for our clients based on the qualities that are important to them and their brands. Then, we leverage our relationships and buying power with our trusted vendors to source, order, and fulfill the products.
Position Summary
The Merchandising Associate is responsible for implementing the day-to-day activities of client projects including researching client brand attributes, composing advertising specialty product proposals, and monitoring PO generation and tracking under the supervision of management. Merchandising Associate will also manage state procurement contracts. specifically monitoring availability, research, proposals, timelines, and relationship building. This position might be asked to assist with business development.

The ideal candidate will have a background in merchandising with customer service experience. The candidate must have the ability to work on several projects at once and a willingness to learn.
Critical Responsibilities
- Execute as needed duties for multiple clients including client and product research, database management, outreach, follow up, and monitoring/tracking of communication
- Obtain supplier quotations, negotiate supplier pricing, and establish preferred delivery and terms
- Execute system maintenance to include creating purchase orders based on client order specs, PO tracking and vendor payments, quality control, pricing and other clerical responsibilities to support order processing
- Monitor deadlines and goals and provide regular updates on activities and developments
- Assist manager to research prospects, identify appropriate means to solicit prospect (meeting, phone call, letter, etc), and prepare agenda and other meeting documents
- Maintain state procurement contact database, create timeline for outreach to select state entities and build relationships with select HUB coordinators by monitoring and attending pre-bid conferences and networking events
- Track weekly outreach according to outreach goals to be determined with management
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or comparable relevant work experience
- Strong organizational skills and pays close attention to detail
- Strong communication and operational skills, written and verbal communication with clients, management, and negotiation with vendors
- Manage time effectively on multiple projects and clients and ability to work effectively in a small workplace
- Willingness to work until the job is done
- Ability to travel as necessary
- Quick learner willing to take on tasks never done before and wants to continuously learn
- Customer service skills and experience a plus
- Experience in Adobe Suite programs (InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop) preferred but not required
- Knowledge of CRM programs ideal but not required
